This is a recipe card that shows the shape of the recipe. Ingredients run down the left. Each step spans exactly the ingredients that go into it, so you can see what gets combined with what, what is made separately, and what happens last.

Open Recipes and paste a recipe URL. It reads the recipe markup the site already publishes for Google, so nothing is guessed and no quantity is ever rewritten. This works on most sites.
Some sites refuse requests coming from a server, so pasting their links fails. This reads the page out of your own browser instead, so there is nothing for them to block. Save it as a bookmark once, then use it whenever you are looking at a recipe.
Chrome shows a plain globe for a bookmark whose address is a script, because there is no site to take an icon from. It does keep whatever icon the bookmark had when you made it, so make it from this page first and then change the address.
Copied. Now edit the bookmark you just made and paste that in as its address.
Quicker, but it lands with the globe: drag 🥗 Grab recipe onto the bar.
Show notes adds a line under each step saying what the recipe actually said. Rotate turns the card sideways so a wide recipe fits a phone screen. Saved recipes stay in this browser.
